5 Stars, Buy it Kindle Version. Re-read review. As a side note, my cat Merlyn is named from a character in the series. Every bit as awesome as I remembered. Rich and full of detail.  I absolutely love the two main male characters (Caius and Plubius). This book absolutely sucks you in, even on the second time reading it. I’m not into military history but the author must either really know his stuff or did an amazing amount of research. This book is half historical fiction and half fantasy. But it’s an amazing combination that is pulled off brilliantly.  It’s a historical fiction telling of King Arthurs Camulot but with all the names romanized and such.   This first book is amazing in how much it sets up for later books. It shows how Caius...

Saga #22

5 Stars, Buy it So Marko still has no idea that his wife is on drugs. This is so not going to end well is it? Alana makes Marko leave. I think my soul might just have been crushed. NOOOOO!!!!  Not quite sure how the Prince robot is connected in all of this but at least I have one or two more issues before i’m caught up and have to wait endlessley for the new issues to be released.  Not only is the story amazing and original, the writing rocks and the art is out of this world. And In any case, read this series, even if you think you don’t like graphic novels, seriously this series is awesome!...

Bone Volume 4 The Dragonslayer

Dec 31, 2014 by

5 Stars, Buy it   Comixology purchased, re-read   Amazing, just amazing. Even if I’ve read them before.  It’s a great series for young and old. The art work is amazing, the writing is awesome, everything is perfect about this series. Highly recommend for everyone. I honestly can’t remember how the series ends, but I would totally love for Fone Bone and Thorn to end up together.   In the first issue in this volume, grandma is getting the feeling that something bad is going to happen while traveling with Fone bone and Thorn.  Meanwhile, Lucius is furious that Phone Bone is making more money on his half of the bar. In the 2nd issue Bone, Thorn and Grandma are cornered by rat creatures. Issue 3 starts with the stupid rat creatures being hilarious....

Artesia Volume 1

5 Stars, Buy it   Self Purchase, re-read review   I originally read these when they first came out. I loved them then and recently repurchased in digital format and will now do re-read reviews of them.  I had thought I had bought these through Comixology but then I remembered, I got them through Drive thru comics (where I also get Girl Genius).   Wow, this is a reread and I’m still blown away completely by the art. A Freaking amazing. I especially love the combination of color pencils and watercolors. The writing is fantastic and already I remember how confusing this series gets. Which is why I’m going to try to plow through them all close together so maybe I can better  understand all of the politics.  Basically, Artesia is a female Captain...

Saga #19

5 Stars, buy it So it appears Saga is no longer available on the kindle. Damn Amazon for being greedy jerks.  So I’ve decided to start reviewing these by issue. Good thing though, these are DRM free and I can back them up. I will repurchase the first three volumes at some point. I swear everything that Brian K. Vaughn touches is pure gold. A Freaking amazing. I’m currently reading all of or most of  his serieses  in various stages and love them. Cover art is awesome. SPOILERS. This issue begins with a robot giving birth and the Dr handling the birth is an allegator or crocodile.  For those who do not know, the story is narrated by the child of two alien species from different worlds who are at war. The two met,...

The Complete Elf Quest Volume 1...

Nov 19, 2014 by

5 Stars, buy it   Self Purchase, Kindle   First Impression: Intense. I immediately am drawn in and like the characters. No wonder this is considered a classic. I do find the writing to be a bit over dramatic.  But I still really love the writing anyway. So glad this finally is making it to the Kindle. One concern (and really its minor) is that I felt like it should have been broken down into smaller chunks. This volume takes up a huge amount of space on my Kindle.  I also would have preferred to stop and start after a few issues but I was/am running out of room on the kindle and so needed to finish this to make more room. I also must admit I was so dying to finish this already...
