Boneyard Volume 1

5 Stars, buy it Self Purchase, Comixology, re-read review. As awesome as I remembered. The art isn’t perfect but the story is really awesome. Michael Paris inherits a cemetery after a relative does. When he gets to town, the locals try to get him to sell. Only he discovers an awesome group of characters living there including a vampire, talking gargoyles, a talking live skeleton and others. All of whom are funny. The vampire name is Abigail and she and Paris hit it off almost immediately. This comic is a lot of fun and really amusing. The art is good, but not fantastic but the writing is a blast and the characters are really original. Highly recommended....

Bone, Volume 3

5 Stars, Buy it. Self Purchase, Comixology, Reread review The writing and the art are consistent and amazingly good.  I love grandma, I love Thorn, I love Fone Bone. I even really like the Dragon.   I originally read this series years and years ago and even gave them to my nephews who absolutely adored them.  I still love them and have every intention of getting Owen to read them once he actually can read. In anycase, these books are awesome and for most ages. Young kids could get pretty scared by some of the darker stuff and wouldn’t understand some of the more complicated plot. Even if you think you don’t like graphic novels, seriously, give these a try. They are brilliant. Plot Summary:  Smiley and Phoney Bone are off with Lucious.  Grandma...

The Strange Library

Star Rating:  5 Stars, Buy it Self Purchase, Kindle Edition Just as a fair warning, I love Haruki Murakami (as in he’s my favorite author of non genre literature).. His last book, I liked but  I think I only gave a four stars. In this short story, I feel like he returns to his true form. This was brilliant and weird and totally awesome. I swear he must have had a weird dream that prompted this story.  Surreal, and very beautifully written. The only things missing were cats and classical music.  He did manage to get some food descriptions in. Anyone who’s read more than one Murakami book will get those references.  This is the story of a boy who gets sucked into an underworld of sorts at a library.   If you’ve never read...

5 Stars, buy it.   I think after this I am all caught up. I’m not sure how fast Comixology gets the digital version after the print comes out. At least I’ll have Saga to read. Oh and Lazarus. I really have to stop subscribing to stuff but I’m finding it harder and harder to wait for the graphic novels.   The lines continue to be fucking awesome. The art continues to rock.  This issue is about Violet (the redhead) and her past. Can’t wait to read more but I really missed the other characters in this issue though the plot was still great even without them.  ...

The Mime Order

Star Rating:4.5 Stars, buy it   Netgalley review, although I have pre-ordered this.   Oh so deliciously good.   SPOILERS. It takes way too long for Warden to come back into the picture but eventually he does. I do find all of the different types of specialties of supernatural people to be a bit confusing. I wonder if its because maybe of British terminology? I don’t know.  Paige is entering the competition to be the Underqueen. I so did not see that coming!!! You can take a guess as to whether she wins it or not.  Overall a very good second book, but I enjoyed the first one more. I will definitely continue to read the series.  I totally want to see what happend ne and it will probably be a long wait....

5 Stars, Buy it. Self purchase, comixology   Plot/Storyline: Silverlock aka Olive,  is in detention and is going to meet up with one of the people who summoned a ghost to the school. Silverlock meets up with Kyle to explain why she disappeared over the summer. Silverlock et all finally manage to break into the North Hall which has been borded shut since the previous year at school. SIlverlock believes she’s been there before but not sure how or when. And the issue ends on a cliffhanger when an arm reaches out of the whole of the floor to grab the girls. Art/Colors: I love the dark colors, it definitely fits the mood and feel of batman though he hasn’t made an appearance  (yet I hope). Characters:  I love the character Maps- or Mia....
