Oddly Normal #10

4.5 Stars, Buy it   Self Purchase, Comixology Finally getting back to reviewing some comics on my lunch break.  We were slammed at work for a few weeks so I didn’t have much time. I’m finally recovered. Love the school bug. I adore the little critter that follows Oddly around (See issue 9).  I still love the art work and color. I like how they talk about comic books.   Basically in this issue Oddly goes to school and attends her first sporting event. Over all, sweet and fun. But in the back of the issue is bad news. This is the last individual issue of Oddly Normal. It apparently does better in book format. Good news is, the individual chapters should still be coming out digitally, which is how I read them. So, I’m...

3 Stars, borrow Self Purchased, kindle edition Technically I didn’t finish this book. However, I felt like i read enough that I could give it a fair rating.  While it was a decently written book, this book just didn’t do anything for me. The premise was a little interesting, but by the time I stopped I was getting bored.  The characters weren’t special or unique really.  This is just your typical run of the mill young adult fantasy book....

4 Stars, Buy it   Self Purchase, Comixology Don’t like this new artist as much. The characters don’t look the same. I don’t like that they all look like they have pig noses now.I hate it when they switch artists or writers. Booo. Anyway, the girls go fishing and catch a mermaid. Of course they get pulled into the mermaid drama.  Despite there being a new artist, the writing is still pretty awesome.  This was fun and it will definitely be interesting to see what happens next.  The mermaids are definitely a bunch of fun. Description (Comixology): When April meets two mermaids who used to be friends but are now stuck in a crazy rivalry, she decides to put her friendship repairing skills to the test!...

4 Stars, Buy it Self Purchase, Comixology You can definitely tell the artist has changed. It’s not so bad, just a little different.  The people look slightly different. Jerrica is overwhelmed with work. Kimber is upset about Stormer. The misfits get a new manager. Rio and Jerrica get into a bit of a fight.   There are some other developments but no need to ruin any surprises.  It’s a good issue but not super fantastic. Still worth buying though. Description:VIRAL PART 1! Jerrica and her sisters face their biggest threat yet–success! Meanwhile, the Misfits aren’t taking these upstarts laying down… as they find themselves under new management…...

5 Stars, Buy it   Self Purchase, Hardback edition   Yeay! In the first chapter, Kat agrees to go on a date with a girl. WHOO HOO!!  The rest of the chapter I found a little confusing. But after I read it a few times I finally figured out what was going on. In the second part, Reynard is up to no go with someone named Hetty. In part 3 or chapter 44- Annie talks with Ysengrim and they go to some ruins. At this point I stopped taking notes and reading this dragged out to a few weeks so I can’t remember everything that happened.   I was afraid that this volume wouldn’t be as good as the previous volumes, but I was pleasantly surprised. I’m ecstatic that Kat’s character is finally going...

3 Stars, borrow it. Self Purchase, Kindle Edition This book is slow moving. Parts are very repetitive of other books. However, that being said, I’m still curious to know what is going on with everyone.  At the beginning of the book, Meredith gives birth and we are introduced to the children. It takes too many chapters for them to get out of the hospital though. The plot is almost non existent. Basically Meredith and her men move from room to room through the mansion and in each room some minor thing happens.   Finally, at the end (almost literally at 90%) a HUGE thing happens (which i won’t ruin for you) that makes it worth finishing the book. Normally, I give books I like either 4 or 5’s. I don’t give as many 3’s because...
