All New X-Men #41

3.5 Stars, Borrow it Self Purchase, Comixology Shield asks some of the X-Men students to help them on Utopia. They arrive and meet the Utopia Mutants. There is some fighting but they all seem to end on decent terms. The utopians end up at the new mutants school. And there it ends. This story line will be concluded in another x title so this was it.  I wasn’t terribly impressed with it, but it wasn’t terrible either.  Will need to start with another X title. Description (comixology): Who are the Utopians? And what secret do they hold that pertains to the future of mutantkind? The All-New X-Men may regret finding out!...

All-New X Men Volume 1

3 Stars, borrow it   Self Purchase, Comixology   SPOILERS   At first I liked this, but by the end of the 3rd/4th issues, I got bored. I usually like Bendis writing but this just wasn’t interesting me. I read enough to give this a rating but I am abandoning this at 75% because life is too short for stuff you are not enjoying.  I did like that two of my favorite X-Men were in this- Hank (The Beast) and Kitty Pryde. Love them both.  I  also liked how there’s some great lines and good humor.   However, time travel stuff just confuses me so I tend not to read it (With the exception of Exiles which I loved.).  Anyway, this series has been cancelled anyway so maybe I’ll just go back to Astonishing...

4.5 Stars, art and story Self Purchase, Comixology I’m just dropping in in the middle here so I definitely appreciate the summary they have provided. I don’t know all of the X-Men but I’m going to be happy to learn them. Also, I had read about this issue SPOILER and how one character is outed and I’m always eager to read about GLBT characters so I knew I had to read this. Never mind the fact Bendis is writing this. Anyway the moment of coming out for this one character seemed well done and believable. Touching and sweet and realistic. Bonus points there.  I am definitely going to have to go back and catch up on the volumes so I know what stuff they are referring to.  And this is definitely decent enough to...

Going Rogue

2.5 Stars, don’t bother   Don’t know much about the xmen on Rogues team in this xmen universe. Rogue goes back to her home town to help contain a new mutant. She ends up learning more about her past. I”m not sure what to make of this. I kinda sorta like it but I’m not terribly impressed either. Somewhat interested but really don’t feel like finishing it....

Batman Volume 4

2 Stars/ Abandoned, don’t bother   Bruce Wayne is dead. Now he returns, secretly. His uncle (I thinik) is in charge of Wayne Industries. I found the second issue in the volume confusing but  Bruce Wayne is sort of forced into the public eye again.  The red capped guys or gang or whatever they are called are kind of creepy. Ughh. This was pretty bad. Of all superheros, Batman is one of my favorites. But the Bruce Wayne in this volume was a spoilt brat. I didn’t like Alfred much in this either and normally I like Alfred. I didn’t find the writing to be all that great either which was a disapointment. In any case, on to something else....
